Swanage Railway Museum

Swanage Railway Museum is based at Corfe Castle Station. Its main objective is to preserve and restore, for the public benefit, items of historical value in connection with railways and in particular the Swanage Branch Line.

Items in the Museum collection are on display in the Goods Shed, which is open from 10.30am – 4.00pm on days that passenger trains are operating. The displays include photographs, equipment and signage as well as personal effects of people who worked on the railways in the southern region. It tells the story of the branch line from 1885 to its closure in 1972 and the important role the railways played in the first and second world wars.

During the February Half Term the museum will be open:-
Saturday 10th – 10:30 to 16:00
Sunday 11th – 10:30 to 16:00
Tuesday 13th to Thursday 15th – 10:30 to 16:00
Saturday 17th – 10:30 to 16:00
Sunday 18th – 10:30 to 16:00
