Jubilee Bake-Off

Organised by Crazy4Corfe – Contact Liz on 480477 for more information

A Jubilee wouldn’t be a Jubilee without a lot of cake!
There are two categories:

A Royal Celebration cake or cakes — This can be any recipe, design and decoration – go wild!!

The Platinum Jubilee Pudding (Lemon Swiss Roll & Amaretti Trifle) — A new recipe, the result of a national competition has been announced, and it is a recipe fit for HM the Queen! You can make it as it is, half the recipe and/or use some shop bought ingredients. It will be judged on appearance and flavour.
Click here to download Jemma’s Lemon Swiss Roll Amarettii Trifle recipe.

The cake and pudding judging will take place on Saturday 4th June in the Village Hall. Cakes should be brought to the Bill Carter Room between 10am and 12noon. Please bring your bakes, ideally on a board and in a suitable container with your name on it.

Judging will begin at 2.00pm and will be open to spectators. All cakes and puddings will be judged anonymously by Anne-Marie Battle and Kirsten Allen who have kindly agreed to be the judges. Prize giving will be from 3.30pm in the main hall.

All cakes and puddings entered will be donated to the Jubilee Picnic on Sunday 5th June. They will be served along with tea and coffee and Purbeck Ice Cream at the picnic. We all know that 2022 is going to be a tough year for many of us, but we also want as many entries to the competition as possible – there will hopefully be a lot of hungry cake eaters at the picnic.

With the support of our friends at Corfe Castle Village Stores and Norden Farm Shop, from Monday 30th May to Friday 2nd June anyone wishing to enter the Bake-Off can collect a bag of ingredients (butter, sugar, eggs, flour) free of charge. Alternatively, please feel free to purchase some extra ingredients and leave them at the till for others to collect and use.
