Join us for a family-friendly variety show at the Planet Purbeck Arts & Environment Festival. Lots to see and do with food, drinks and plenty to enjoy.

The first-ever Planet Purbeck Festival took place over one week in September 2021 to an audience of over 1,000 people. It gathered together the best sustainable businesses and organisations from all across Purbeck to give its festivals-goers a choice of over 200 events during this period. Activities ranged from nature walks and workshops to inspirational talks on community projects and the science behind our environmental crisis. The theme of the festival was “A Celebration of our Natural World” and each event supported this goal by educating, enthusing and connecting people with their local environment.

The Planet Purbeck Festival is run by the community, for the community. Many local people recognise that our natural assets are under threat and something needs to be done. Planet Purbeck approached this problem by creating a fun and enthusiastic platform that invites the community to connect with their environment and foster a relationship with it; the more we care about our world; the more we will protect it.

The festival increased the membership base by a massive 30%. Many of the businesses and organisations involved reported an increased interest in their activities during and after the festival, too. From survey evidence, after the event, we understand that 70% of attendees were inspired to make changes to their lifestyle to positively impact the planet.

There will be events throughout the day including music, activities (including the return of the Arty Bug Hunt), games and puzzles. There will be a bar serving soft and alcoholic drinks and food (including an all-day barbecue).
