To mark our respects, on Monday 19th September most of the businesses in the village will be closed, including the Castle, shops etc., while we observe the national bank holiday for the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II state funeral
The Corfe Castle Sweet Shop (The Village Newsagents) will be open in the morning until midday. A number of pubs including The Greyhound Inn, The Bankes Arms and The Castle Inn will remain open during the day and are likely to have TVs where you can watch the proceedings.
We would like to express our condolences to the Royal Family, as well as our appreciation of the extraordinary life of service and commitment that Her Majesty gave to the country for more than 70 years.
