The Corfe Castle Big Platinum Jubilee Family Picnic Lunch

Corfe Castle will celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th anniversary as monarch over the four-day Bank Holiday weekend in June 2022.

Come and enjoy a traditional Jubilee gathering with Family and Friends to mark this milestone event in our nation’s history.

Bring your own picnic, rugs and seats and enjoy free refreshments – tea, coffee, Purbeck Ice Cream and Bake-Off puddings and cakes – all free.

Enjoy the U3A Ukulele Band, our circus entertainer, some very silly but very competitive games.

Who will be the knight in shining armour for the Hobby Horse Jousting? Can you get around the human version of the dog agility course with your dignity intact? Can you and your team win the relay and make the best Queen’s breakfast? Can you beat the Goalie? How many coconuts can you win in the shy? Will you be the Cornhole Game winner?

We hope to have free parking in the West Street Car Park for the whole day.
Sadly, dogs are not allowed on the Sports Field.
Everybody is welcome to this event. Let’s hope that the weather is kind to us, but we’re British and not made of sugar. We will be there regardless and look forward to welcoming you all.

The Big Jubilee Lunch (or Picnic)

To coincide with the Platinum Jubilee, The Big Jubilee Lunch will be taking place on Sunday 5 June. Every year since the idea began in 2009, The Big Lunch has encouraged communities to celebrate their connections and get to know each other a little bit better.

Following the success of the first Big Jubilee Lunch, to celebrate Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, The Big Lunch will bring the Jubilee celebrations into the heart of every community again in 2022.
