The Swanage Railway are delighted to announce the dates of our ever-popular Diesel Gala and Beer Festival!
The event will be held between Friday 12th and Sunday 14th May 2023.
Once again and back by popular demand, an intensive service will operate on all three days over our full 10-mile line between Swanage and our boundary with Network Rail at “Bridge 4” over the River Frome on the line towards Wareham. Our well established three train service will be in operation, with two trains operating over the full length of the line, and a shuttle in operation between Swanage and Corfe Castle.
Beer Festival
This year’s Beer Festival takes place again in Corfe Castle Goods Yard. Organised by Purbeck Kitchens, there are planned to be 31 Real Ales and 5 Ciders on offer. There will also be hot food available on site throughout the day and evening.
Evening Services
On both Friday and Saturday evenings we will have a “Beerex” train in operation to get you to and from the Beer Festival at Corfe. These services will be worked by Class 33 33111 in push-pull mode with the visiting 4TC unit on Friday evening, and Class 40 D345 on Saturday evening.
