Swanage Railway Autumn Steam Gala 2026

The Autumn Steam Gala will return between Friday 11 and Sunday 13 September, an event that always proves popular with enthusiasts and families alike. Organisers expect this year’s Autumn Steam Gala to be a major occasion and encourage visitors to obtain tickets as soon as they go on sale.

The Steam Galas offer the best opportunity to see and travel behind the home fleet of steam locomotives, together with one or two surprise visitors. While the full locomotive line‑up is still under wraps, the Gala Committee is working hard to assemble an exciting combination of resident and guest locomotives in action across the three‑day event.

Visitors can look forward to all the familiar highlights from previous galas, including an interesting timetable featuring services from Swanage all the way to the River Frome on the railway’s extension towards Worgret Junction. On‑site catering, facilities on board the trains and trade stands at Swanage station will help ensure a full and enjoyable day out.
