Corfe Castle will celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th anniversary as monarch over the four-day Bank Holiday weekend in June 2022.

2 pm – The Proclamation in the square.

Join us in the village square to hear the proclamation of the lighting of the beacon by our town crier, Barry Stocks.

On Thursday 2nd June, Corfe Castle will light the Beacon on East Hill.

The perfect location to watch the Beacon will be the Village Square, St Edward’s Church Lawn or the Castle grounds.

Entry to the Castle grounds will be free from 7pm and the event will start around 9pm culminating in the Beacon lighting at 9.45pm 🔥

A piper will play a specially commissioned tune for HM The Queen, and we will have the Corfe Castle Jubilee Choir singing the new commonwealth anthem and the National Anthem.

Bring a picnic and enjoy the lower Castle grounds, and then help us countdown the seconds to the lighting of beacons all over the country!

The Jubilee Beacons are one of the official events of the Platinum Jubilee in 2022 as part of an extended bank holiday, from Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th June. The Jubilee Beacons will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, UK Overseas Territories and the Commonwealth, to come together to celebrate this historic milestone. The four days of celebrations will include public events and community activities, as well as national moments of reflection on The Queen’s 70 years of service.
