The May Fair takes place in the outer bailey of the Castle on Bank Holiday Monday 25th May 2026 10am-4pm
There will be a mix of stalls, refreshments and entertainment, something for all the family.
This year we are especially grateful to the National Trust who say:
The Village May Fair is organised “By the village, for the village”. To support our local community, free entry to the castle will be available on the day to residents of BH19 and BH20 postcodes. Proof of residence is required on arrival.
This event goes back to the 13th century, with the Castle owner of the time traditionally allowing the villagers to hold an annual fair one day each year, for the benefit of local organisations.
