Air Ambulance week sees Dorset castle lit in show of respect
The week is dedicated to promoting awareness and fundraising for the crucial efforts of air ambulance charities throughout the United Kingdom. On the evening of September 7th, Corfe Castle will be illuminated in yellow and green, symbolizing the distinctive colours of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance Service.
Corfe Castle, with a history spanning over 1000 years, stands as a remarkable survivor of England’s Civil War. This historic fortress is under the stewardship of the National Trust and is nestled on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset.
Adam Evans, visitor operations and experience manager at Corfe Castle said: “Our local communities rely heavily on the emergency response of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance”.
“We are delighted to show our support to their vital service.”
Air Ambulance Week 2023 takes place between 4th – 10th September.
