PLEASE NOTE — there will be no access in or out of the Village on the 3rd May after 8pm while resurfacing works and repairs are carried out overnight to the main road A351/East Street. The road should be open again by 5am on the 4th May.
OVERNIGHT TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF A351 EAST STREET, CORFE CASTLE
DORSET COUNCIL has issued a Notice under Section 14 [2] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along A351 East Street, Corfe Castle between B3069 Kingston Hill Street and B3351 Studland Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1400 metres. The Notice is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation at 20:00 on 3rd May 2023 and remain in force for five days, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 05:00 on 4th May 2023.
This Notice will enable Kays Highways safe access to carry out Carriageway Preservation works in the highway.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed for traffic on the southern side of the closure using A351, Shore Road, Ulwell Road and B3351 and for traffic on the northern side of the closure, the alternative vehicular route will be signed via B3351, Ulwell Road, Redcliffe Road, Ulwell Road, Shore Road and A351.
