Witness this unique and time-honoured Purbeck tradition!
Shrove Tuesday (Tuesday 21st February) marks the induction of new apprentices into the Company of Marblers and Stonecutters of Purbeck.
The tradition starts at 10am with the freemen gathering at The Fox Inn, Corfe Castle. At noon, there will be a procession to the Town Hall for the induction ceremony, followed by the customary kicking of a football around the boundary of Corfe to preserve the old right of way.
You’re invited to watch on Tuesday, February 21st at The Fox Inn for this long standing Purbeck tradition.
