Marvellous Moths Morning – An Introduction to Moths at RSPB Arne

Discover the moths that make their home at RSPB Arne, then indulge in a breakfast bap & hot drink, followed by a wander around Coombe Heath.

Celebrate National Moth Night with us and discover what has been attracted to the moth traps overnight. Help us identify RSPB Arne’s marvellous moths. Hopefully we’ll discover some masters of camouflage, like buff tips, smart-looking footman, a few stunningly beautiful moths, such as light emeralds and maybe a few huge hawkmoths.

Included in the experience is a breakfast bap (bacon, egg or sausage/veggie sausage) and a tea or filter coffee (children’s bap & drink available). Followed by a short guided walk around Coombe Heath, exploring the habitats and plants important for our moths.

The traps we use are humane light traps that attract moths. We will release all the moths once we’ve identified them.
